# Finally migrating from elastiflow-4.0.1 ... questions

Hi Team,

we’re finally migrating from the old but beautiful elastiflow-4.0.1 to latest flow-collector.

Just want to confirm a couple of things before proceeding …

1. Is there any way of migrating the old 4.0.1 data into new index format? I think the answer is no.
2. If we install the new version on the same ES stack as the old, should we be able to access the old data via old dashboards, and new data from new without problem? I believe we will.

If anyone has any additional advice, I’d appreciate it.

I have to say, I don’t think I’ve even thought about this and know nothing about the “old but beautiful elastiflow-4.0.1” 😄

I _think_ what you are saying is correct but maybe we can get an old-timer ( like @rob ) to chime in! What ES stack version are you running? Has it been upgraded?
